We recently re-instated crew battles at Save•Point. For those that don’t know, the kids form 4 or 5 man crews and then they battle against each other in Super Smash Bros. Melee. The full details are here. This time around we set up an MVP list, so that we wouldn’t have one crew to rule them all. The kids really liked this idea and immediately started strategizing for MVPs and planning counter members for everyone else. We then set up closed forums on the GameBoard for more stategizing, practice scheduling, etc. Since I’m a board admin, I get to see all the planning and chatter, and they are definitely using the board to it’s fullest.

One crew, Too Awesome For A Name (TAFAN), has gone a step further in showing their crewness. They made personalized avatars for the GameBoard and their own website complete with bios, videos, a forum for practice scheduling, chat room, and links back to Save•Point!
